My Story
Firstly, what are my credentials? I have been working with people experiencing individual and family challenges for over twenty years.

I started a career in social care as a family support worker, working with vulnerable children and families and dealing with issues such as family violence, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, addiction, child, adolescent and adult mental health, physical disability, learning disability, separated migrant children, the travelling community, young carers and young people in the care system.
I went on to qualify as a social worker working with vulnerable children and families, adults affected by addictions, HIV and hepatitis C, adults with mental health difficulties within the community and in hospital, as well as out of hours crisis work.

My work has given me the privilege to work with people in the most challenging of circumstances, many of whom have experienced abuse and trauma.

Doing this work over many years led me into my training to become a counsellor and psychotherapist.
